Indonesia's main stock index fell 0.33 percent to 6,441 despite earlier gains. Meanwhile, the Rupiah strengthened slightly to 17,730 per US dollar.
Financial markets continue to face heavy pressure from high inflation and global tensions. These macroeconomic and geopolitical pressures show no signs of easing soon.
Rising benchmark interest rates could cause further market corrections. Bond markets in the US and Indonesia remain vulnerable as investors demand higher yields.
These market dynamics create short-term liquidity demands that may trigger capital outflows. Such movements will quickly affect both the Rupiah and stock prices.
Meanwhile, global gold prices edged higher, reaching 4,377 dollars per troy ounce. This safe-haven asset remains strong amid growing market uncertainty.
