IDX Stocks Fall 1.43 Percent Last Week as Trading Activity Slows

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Stock trading on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed in negative territory last week, pressured by global geopolitical conflicts, rising oil prices, and expectations of interest rate hikes that weighed on market sentiment.

During the trading period of September 7–11, 2026, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) fell 1.43 percent, closing at 6,541.37, down from the previous week’s level of 6,636.47.

The IDX’s market capitalization dropped 1.32 percent to IDR 11,446 trillion (approximately USD 650.08 billion), compared with IDR 11,599 trillion the week before.

Average daily trading value declined 14.88 percent to IDR 16.36 trillion, from IDR 19.22 trillion in the previous week. Average daily trading volume also fell 26.34 percent to 36.09 billion shares, down from 48.99 billion shares.

The average daily transaction frequency decreased 7.07 percent to 2.22 million transactions, compared with 2.39 million the previous week.

Foreign investors continued net selling throughout the week, recording IDR 690.19 billion in net sales. Year‑to‑date, foreign investors have booked a net sell of IDR 71.415 trillion.

Despite the market downturn, the IDX received several prestigious awards at the 2025 Vision Awards Annual Report Competition, an international event organized by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP).

The IDX earned a Platinum Award for excellence in annual report preparation, recognition as one of the Top 100 Reports Worldwide (ranked 29th), and inclusion in the Top 100 Reports in the Asia‑Pacific Region (ranked 15th).

Its annual report was also named among the Top 20 Indonesian Reports. The IDX won Gold in the Most Engaging Report category at the Asia‑Pacific level and Bronze at the global level.

Additionally, the IDX received the Technical Achievement Award for overall excellence in annual report communication. These awards underscore the IDX’s commitment to delivering high‑quality annual reports as part of its public information transparency.
