IDX Demutualization Regulations to Be Issued in September 2026: OJK

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has confirmed that regulations governing the demutualization of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) will be issued in September 2026. The provisions will be outlined in an OJK Regulation (POJK), which is now in the final drafting stage.

Executive Director of Capital Markets, Derivatives and the Carbon Exchange Supervision at the OJK, Hasan Fawzi, said the drafting process is progressing as planned. “We expect to finalize it soon this month, in the third quarter (Q3 2026), this September,” Hasan said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, September 3.

Hasan said the OJK has discussed the draft regulation with several relevant parties, including the Ministry of Law, as part of the harmonization process.

In the next phase, the OJK will hold a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the House of Representatives to refine the substance of the regulation. After that, the OJK will await the Ministry of Law’s harmonization results before finalizing the POJK.

“Once it’s ready, the OJK will then number and finalize it for publication and implementation,” Hasan said.

He added that the IDX must promptly follow up on the regulation once the demutualization rules take effect. The adjustments include amendments to the articles of association related to the exchange’s institutional structure and share ownership.

All current IDX shareholders must approve the amendments. “Furthermore, IDX may invite parties other than exchange members as new shareholders,” Hasan said. (Gusti Panji)
