RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The 2026 National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) will be held on a larger scale, with the government aiming to boost digital economic activity and consumer spending at year-end.
Harbolnas 2026 will run for seven days, from December 10–16, and will feature not only goods but also services such as accommodations and transportation tickets.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said the expanded Harbolnas is expected to support economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2026 (Q4 2026). The government is targeting 6 percent growth for the quarter as a foundation for achieving 6 percent growth in 2027.
“Last year, we achieved our target of IDR 36.4 trillion (approximately USD 2.05 billion), and this year we’re targeting an increase of at least 10 percent. So this year’s target is IDR 40 trillion,” Minister Airlangga said at the Road to Harbolnas 2026 kick‑off event at the Ministry of Trade office in Jakarta on Thursday, August 27, as quoted by Antara.
Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the expansion of Harbolnas is reflected in the involvement of various digital platforms, including marketplaces, online travel agents, ride‑hailing services, social commerce, and other digital commerce and service platforms.
According to Minister Budi, Harbolnas is a collaboration between the government and the Indonesian E‑commerce Association (IdEA) to drive economic growth while maintaining public purchasing power toward year‑end. Harbolnas 2025 recorded transactions totaling IDR 36.4 trillion, up 17 percent from IDR 31.2 trillion in 2024.
Local products contributed IDR 16.6 trillion, or about 45 percent of total Harbolnas 2025 transactions. Fashion and athletic wear, personal care products, and food and beverages were the three most popular local categories.
Indonesia’s digital economy continues to grow, creating new opportunities for businesses. The digital economy is projected to reach around USD 100 billion by 2025, while video commerce has recorded nearly 2.6 billion transactions.
The Ministry of Trade is also promoting digital platforms for exports through the “UMKM Bisa Ekspor” and “Kampuspreneur” programs. The ministry is currently collaborating with more than 20 universities to provide export training to students. ***
