RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesia's Ministry of Trade held a webinar on global market trends titled “Dasa Daya” to boost exports of local products, according to a written press release from the ministry on Friday, July 31, 2026. This event served as a celebration of the Indonesia Design Development Center’s (IDDC) 10th anniversary in collaboration with Indonesian trade representatives.

The program featured 16 trade representatives who provided in-depth insights into international consumer preferences to domestic business operators. Fajarini Puntodewi, Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, noted that this initiative is crucial for elevating the status of national products.

“Indonesia’s trade representatives are the eyes and ears of Indonesia in global markets. The synergy between the market information they gather and the strength of national design will accelerate the upgrading of Indonesian products and make them more competitive in international markets,” she said.

Market information from these representatives was compiled into eight key indicators to serve as a guide for the development of export product designs. This guide covers demographic research, visual aesthetic trends, and compliance with international packaging standards.

“We have categorized market information into eight key indicators to strengthen collaboration. Strengthening collaboration between Indonesian design agencies and the national design ecosystem is a crucial step toward producing high-quality products that align with consumer preferences in export destination countries,” Puntodewi said.

This series of sessions, which will run through August 2026, examines the characteristics of markets in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The government hopes this design-based strategy can effectively increase the sales volume of Indonesian products in international markets.

“We believe design is a strategic tool for enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the global market,” the Ministry of Trade’s Director of Export Development for Creative Services and Products, Ari Satria, noted.
