RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s creative economy continues driving national economic growth through regional-based development and stronger investment opportunities. The statement was delivered by Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya during a press conference at Bakom RI, Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Teuku Riefky said that President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto viewed the creative economy as a sector with significant growth potential. The government focuses on developing the sector by starting from regions across Indonesia.

“President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto sees that the creative economy has grown significantly and has even become a new engine of national economic growth. But the key point is that it starts from regions. In line with his vision, development must begin from regions, and so must the creative economy,” he said.

The minister explained that creative economy development requires collaboration between ministries, institutions, communities, academics, and regional governments. The effort aims to strengthen local creative industries and create quality employment opportunities.

He said the government also promotes creative economy downstream development to increase the value of Indonesian products. The initiative encourages local creative products to become competitive in domestic, regional, and global markets.

Riefky highlighted the investment performance of the creative economy sector in 2025. He said stronger collaboration has increased international confidence in investing in Indonesia’s creative industries.

“Thanks to collaboration with various ministries and institutions, support from communities, academics, and regional governments, the achievement reached 134 percent in 2025. The total realization of investment in 2025, 9.5 percent entered the creative economy sector. What does it mean? It means international parties are increasingly confident in investing in the creative economy sector,” he said.

The Ministry of Creative Economy monitors four main performance indicators, including investment, exports, creative economy employment, and contribution to economic growth. In 2025, the sector exceeded several targets, reflecting its growing role in the national economy.

The government also issued Presidential Regulation Number 37 of 2026 on the Creative Economy Master Plan for 2026-2045. The regulation provides a long-term strategy for strengthening research, education, financing, infrastructure, marketing, and intellectual property development.

Indonesia will host the World Conference on Creative Economy 2026 in Jakarta on October 21-23, 2026. The international forum is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s strategic role in global creative economy development.
