RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s plan to establish the Indonesia International Financial Center (IIFC) is gaining strong momentum as the government targets full readiness within two to three years. The initiative aims to position the country as a competitive destination for global capital and international financial services.

President Prabowo Subianto led a restricted cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, 23 July 2026, to accelerate the project following parliamentary approval of its legal framework. The center is designed to bolster national investment infrastructure and attract major foreign investors, including international family offices.

During the preparation phase, operations will initially launch in Jakarta while the main hub in Bali is being developed. Rosan Roeslani confirmed that a building in Jakarta has been secured to support these early-stage activities.

“The implementation plan for the Indonesia International Financial Center, for which, thank God, the legislation has already been approved by the House of Representatives, needs to be followed up immediately, as requested by the President. It is planned to be established in Bali, but it will likely take two or three years of preparation before it becomes a world-class financial center that can attract investors,” Rosan explained.

Early feedback from the international business community indicates high interest in the new hub. Rosan noted that recent discussions with prospective global partners yielded encouraging responses regarding the center's potential.

“A few days ago, I also went to Bali to meet with 11 investors from family offices and other organizations, and their response was very positive regarding the financial center that will be established in Indonesia,” he said.

The institutional framework will involve multiple entities to ensure smooth operations. BPI Danantara will act as the infrastructure developer, while an appointed hub leader and governor will establish the necessary governance systems.
