RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) of Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR RI) is encouraging stronger collaboration between parliament and the business community to accelerate the implementation of economic cooperation generated through parliamentary diplomacy.

Deputy Chair of BKSAP DPR RI, Muhammad Husein Fadlulloh, said the agency welcomes the participation of various organizations, including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), in accompanying parliament during visits by foreign delegations and bilateral cooperation forums.

"We are always open to working with other organizations. Almost every day, foreign parliamentary delegations and international organizations visit BKSAP to exchange views and ideas," Husein said while leading a BKSAP working visit to Semarang, Central Java, on Wednesday, according to a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.

He said successful parliamentary diplomacy requires support from business partners so that investment prospects and business cooperation opportunities emerging from international meetings can be translated into concrete actions.

In addition to strengthening cooperation networks, BKSAP also received input from regional governments and business stakeholders on a number of technical challenges, including port development and the growth of the creative economy.

Husein said these concerns would be conveyed to the relevant commissions in the House of Representatives, including Commission VI, to seek cross-sectoral solutions.

He emphasized that although international diplomacy is BKSAP's primary responsibility, the agency also serves a representative function by bringing regional issues to the attention of the relevant parliamentary commissions.

According to him, stronger synergy between parliament, regional governments, and the business sector is increasingly important because the challenge today is not only to promote regional potential but also to ensure that it meets global market standards.

Therefore, BKSAP is committed to expanding international access to Indonesia's regional potential so that participation in international forums, including ASEAN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the P20, can generate tangible economic benefits for local communities.
