RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is expanding its economic cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by exploring a strategic partnership with Ras Al Khaimah.
The collaboration will focus on investment, tourism, employment, education, and health to strengthen economic ties between the two parties.
This commitment was discussed during a meeting between Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Judha Nugraha and the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Member of the UAE Federal National Council, Sheik Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, in Ras Al Khaimah on Monday, June 29, 2026.
The meeting is part of efforts to deepen Indonesia’s relations with all emirates in the UAE.
“Ambassador Judha Nugraha expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by the government of Ras Al Khaimah and reaffirmed Indonesia’s readiness to expand mutually beneficial collaboration,” according to a written statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, as quoted by Antara in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
During the discussions, both parties agreed to enhance investment cooperation, strengthen ties among business actors, expand employment opportunities, and develop the tourism sector.
Indonesia also expressed its readiness to provide professional workers to support the rapid growth of the tourism and hospitality industries in Ras Al Khaimah.
In addition to the economic sector, Indonesia welcomed opportunities for collaboration in education and health. The initiative also commemorates the 50th anniversary of Indonesia–UAE diplomatic relations, which will be marked in 2026.
“The Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi will continue to push for concrete follow-up actions to expand Indonesia’s partnerships with all emirates in the UAE,” the embassy stated.
According to the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah is emerging as one of the UAE’s new economic growth centers, with strengths in manufacturing, tourism, real estate, and industry.
This development makes the emirate increasingly attractive as an international investment destination, offering a competitive business climate that is welcoming to foreign investors. ***
