Singkawang Highlights Tatung Parade for Cap Go Meh Celebration

RRI.CO.ID, Singkawang - The Tatung Parade is a major attraction of the annual Cap Go Meh celebration in Singkawang, West Kalimantan. The spectacular cultural procession draws visitors with its distinctive rituals, vibrant costumes, and longstanding spiritual traditions.

The parade showcases a unique blend of Hakka Chinese and Dayak cultural traditions preserved by generations of local communities. Its remarkable performances offer visitors an opportunity to experience one of Indonesia's remarkable cultural celebrations.

Participants known as Tatung perform trance rituals while demonstrating extraordinary physical endurance. Their performances include traditional practices involving sharp blades, reflecting the spiritual character of the procession.
