RRI.CO.ID, Singaraja - Endek woven fabric, a traditional Balinese textile known for its intricate patterns and craftsmanship, has gained a new regional identity with the launch of the Tunjung Ungu (Purple Lotus) motif in Buleleng. The motif was officially introduced by the Buleleng Regency Regional Handicraft Council (Dekranasda Buleleng) during the 2026 Buleleng Festival (Bulfest) at Praja Mandala Singa Ambara Raja in Singaraja, Bali, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Initiated by Dekranasda Chairperson Wardhany Sutjidra, the launch ceremony featured a symbolic thread-spinning demonstration followed by a fashion showcase titled Askara-Wastra Tunjung Ungu. The exhibition presented 48 ready-to-wear and high-concept designs modeled by 48 local youths, as reported by Infopublik.

Developed through a collaborative effort involving Dekranasda, local fashion labels, including Gede Yudi, Dins Hand Made, Ayu Windi, Diah Mode, and Pagi Motle, and academic designers from Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), the collection aims to modernize traditional weaving patterns.
