RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Transforming national identity into a vibrant economic engine, the TERASI (Teras Inspirasi) or Inspiration Terrace 2026 exhibition officially opened its doors at Agora Mall in Jakarta this Thursday, August 13, 2026. Celebrating its third annual iteration, the five-day event is designed as a dynamic meeting ground for the country's creative ecosystem, showcasing the distinct visual narratives of 60 talented illustrators from across the archipelago.
Brought to life by local lifestyle and fashion brand SOVLO in partnership with the National Creative Economy Movement (GEKRAFS), the exhibition runs through August 17 under the guiding theme Rumahku Indonesia (My Home, Indonesia).
More than just an art showcase, the event serves as a platform to merge traditional cultural elements with contemporary commercial opportunities, featuring an array of interactive programming that includes immersive wall paintings, art markets, creative workshops, illustrator meet-and-greets, and the finals of the SOVLO Goes to School initiative.
A defining feature of this year’s exhibition is its profound social inclusivity. In collaboration with the Indonesian Down Syndrome Association (ISDI) and the Indonesian Childhood Cancer Foundation (YKAI), TERASI 2026 introduces an exclusive collection of wearable art.
This initiative highlights the creations of children with Down syndrome and young cancer survivors, directly translating their artistic expressions into sustainable economic value and widespread public appreciation.
For the organizers, the event represents a vital lifeline for career-driven creators. Co-founder of SOVLO, Djohan, emphasized the broader mission behind the annual gathering.
“TERASI we present not just as an event, but as a meeting space for the entire Indonesian illustration ecosystem, connecting local illustrators with audiences, communities, industries, and real economic opportunities. This motivates us to continue supporting creators in maintaining their ideals as true illustrators,” Djohan said, as quoted by Antara.
Highlighting the critical importance of these grassroots efforts to the broader national agenda, government leadership praised the initiative for strengthening the country's creative foundation. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy and Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar, attended the opening ceremony and lauded the exhibition for providing essential visibility and networking channels for regional creators.
“The presence of works from 60 SOVLO Local Illustrator Families shows that Indonesia has a wealth of talent, visual characters, and stories that are very diverse, We hope that TERASI not only be an exhibition space, but also a momentum to expand networks, create new collaborations, and open more opportunities for local creators,” she said while attending the opening of TERASI at Agora Mall, Jakarta, on Thursday, August 13.
Expanding further on the philosophy of collaborative growth within the sector, the Deputy Minister added, “SOVLO is not just an inclusive stage for illustrators and the public, but a real proof of a creative economy that respects work, builds togetherness, and celebrates the nation's unity. Through this event, illustration is transformed into a real product that respects illustrators transparently for common growth and development.
This is the creative economy, togetherness, and national unity: when we grow and develop together to respect each other's work,” the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy added. ***
