RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesia's Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, attended the Spotify Loud & Clear Indonesia event. He expressed his appreciation for Spotify's active role in strengthening the country's music ecosystem through an inclusive and transparent streaming platform, while simultaneously opening global market access for talented Indonesian musicians.
"When Indonesian songs are played in Malaysia, the United States, and other countries, the music not only entertains but also introduces Indonesian stories, culture, and identity to the world. This is the power of the creative economy in expanding Indonesia's influence globally," the Minister of Creative Economy conveyed at the 25hours Hotel in Jakarta on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
'Loud & Clear' is Spotify's annual transparency initiative that provides insight into how streaming royalties are generated and distributed. The initiative also highlights how streaming services help musicians expand their reach to the global market, build a listener base, and develop sustainable careers.

The Minister emphasized the Ministry's vision to encourage local talent to rise to the top so they can compete in regional and global markets. The creative economy sector currently employs 27.4 million workers, with more than 50 percent of them being Generation Z and millennials.
This growth reflects the high level of confidence in Indonesia's creative industry in creating jobs, attracting investment, and expanding Indonesia's presence on global platforms. According to the Minister of Creative Economy, the presence of streaming platforms has expanded access to the music industry and provided more equitable opportunities for musicians from various regions to gain wider recognition.
"Streaming platforms have democratized access to the music industry. Now, musicians from all over Indonesia have equal opportunities to gain wider recognition. Therefore, collaboration between the government, the creative industry, and creators is key to building a fair, sustainable music ecosystem that provides economic value for its practitioners," Teuku Riefky said.
Spotify Southeast Asia Managing Director, Gustav Back, explained that throughout 2025, the works of Indonesian musicians were discovered more than 6.3 billion times by new listeners on Spotify. Royalties generated by Indonesian musicians through the platform also increased by more than 16 percent compared to the previous year, with 60 percent of these coming from international listeners.
