RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The animated film Garuda di Dadaku reflects the growing capacity of Indonesia’s animation industry. The project was produced by 500 Indonesian animators who worked on the film over a three-year period.

Producer Shanty Harmayn said the film demonstrates the ability of Indonesian talent to deliver animation productions that meet international standards. She noted that the involvement of hundreds of local animators highlights the strengthening of the country’s animation ecosystem.

The production brought together 17 animation studios from across Indonesia. Participating studios included Imaji Studio, Manimonki, Leomotions, and Brown Bag Films Bali.

The animators involved in the project came from Batam, Yogyakarta, Malang, Bali, Bogor, and Jakarta. This nationwide collaboration reflects the broad distribution of animation talent and expertise across the country.

According to her, Garuda di Dadaku represents an important milestone for Indonesia’s animation sector. She said the successful coordination of hundreds of local animators in a large-scale production demonstrates the industry’s growing capabilities.

Amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies, all visual elements of the film were created without the use of AI. The animation process was carried out entirely by Indonesian artists and creative professionals.

The animated adaptation of Garuda di Dadaku was developed as part of efforts to expand a homegrown intellectual property that has been familiar to Indonesian audiences since 2009. The film is expected to further strengthen the position of animation as one of Indonesia’s promising creative economy sectors.
