The Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, Wang Siping, emphasized that the celebration serves as a vital global window, allowing the public to connect with the Mandarin language while gaining a more nuanced understanding of China.

"Today, we are not only showcasing extraordinary traditional Chinese culture but also building a bridge that transcends national borders and connects hearts," said Wang during the opening ceremony, as quoted by Antara.

Organized by the Confucius Institute at Al-Azhar University Indonesia (UAI) in collaboration with the Indonesian Calligraphy and Painting Institute, the festival aimed to cultivate mutual respect and strengthen cultural cooperation between the two nations. The program featured a rich tapestry of performances, ranging from melodic choral ensembles to the intricate sounds of traditional Chinese musical instruments.

Attendees, including students and families, were encouraged to participate in interactive workshops such as tea tasting, lacquer fan making, and trying on traditional attire.

The educational impact of the event was felt personally by local visitors like Nova, a Jakarta professional and mother who attended with her family to introduce her 10-year-old son to Chinese traditions. Beyond linguistic proficiency, Nova noted the developmental benefits of the cultural workshops.

"At this event, we had the chance to learn calligraphy, and it seems my son really enjoys it. Creating calligraphy requires patience and tranquility, two things I believe are very important for a child's character development," she observed.
