RRI.CO.ID, Yogyakarta - The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, has inspected the finalization of the Chattra, the parasol-shaped crown, destined for the pinnacle of the Main Stupa of Borobudur Temple.

The Chattra is being crafted at the Yusman Sculpture Studio in Bantul, Yogyakarta. This project underscores the government's commitment to ensuring the active participation of creative economy players in national strategic projects.

"Yusman Sculpture Studio serves as a creative laboratory that preserves the dignity of our national history. The presence of the Borobudur Chattra here symbolizes the expertise of local maestros and efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s cultural identity," said Irene Umar on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

Irene further noted that the fabrication of the Chattra demands an extraordinary level of precision and detail. To her, this serves as proof that Indonesia’s creative workforce, particularly in the field of sculpture, meets international quality standards.

Yusman, the artist and founder of the studio, provided a technical briefing on the materials and the meticulous production process. With decades of experience, he ensured that the craftsmanship aligns strictly with archaeological findings while maintaining high durability.
