RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar, visited the free health checkup (CKG) booth at the 2026 National Chinese New Year Festival at Lapangan Banteng, Jakarta, from 22 February to 1 March 2026.

This program is part of the government's commitment to providing easy, free, and accessible healthcare services to all levels of society.

Visitors to the National Chinese New Year Festival can receive comprehensive checkups, including blood pressure and blood sugar, hepatitis, dental checkups, tuberculosis, and breast cancer. This is crucial for early detection and better public health awareness.

"Everyone needs these health checkups, including those who are healthy. Early detection is essential because it allows us to stay productive and support our families who depend on us," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene at Lapangan Banteng, Jakarta, on Monday, 23 February 2026.

She added that the government continues to collaborate to provide easy access for the public to free health checkups, including through national events. This will ensure the program's reach continues to grow. In 2026, the government targets 136 million participants to be able to enjoy this priority program.

To deliver an engaging visual experience, the 2026 National Chinese New Year Festival committee, along with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Creative Economy, also collaborated with local intellectual property (IP) Halomiyu.

"This collaboration between ministries and local IP demonstrates that creativity serves as an effective bridge to expand health education to the public and creative communities. By partnering with local IP like Halomiyu, health messages can be presented in a more friendly and accessible manner, making them more easily accepted," she explained.

The 2026 National Chinese New Year Festival is being presented as a lunar new year festival that celebrates Indonesia's diversity through art, tradition, and culinary delights. Chinese New Year is presented not only as a celebration for the Chinese community, but also as a gathering point for all Indonesians in the spirit of harmony and unity.

In addition to free health checks, visitors can also enjoy a variety of entertainment, including culinary markets, arts and creative festivals, a Chinese New Year parade, and the Open Museum: Acculturation of Chinese Culture.
