RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the national fashion industry as part of the country’s creative economy strategy ahead of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr celebration. Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, made the statement during the opening of the Garis Poetih Raya Festival 2026 at City Hall, Pondok Indah Mall (PIM) 3, Jakarta, on Thursday, 29 January 2026.

The minister further said the festival, initiated by designer Ivan Gunawan, serves as a collaborative platform to support fashion industry players by expanding market access and showcasing creative works ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and peak Eid al-Fitr shopping season.

“Garis Poetih Raya Festival 2026, initiated by designer Ivan Gunawan, not only serves as a space to appreciate the creative works of designers, but also plays a role in expanding market access for national fashion industry players, particularly ahead of the Eid al-Fitr momentum,” Minister Teuku Riefky wrote in a press release received by RRI VOI on Friday, 30 January 2026.

He emphasized that fashion remains one of the leading subsectors of Indonesia’s creative economy, contributing significantly to value creation and export performance compared to other creative industries.

As part of its concrete support, the Ministry of Creative Economy set up an EKRAF Booth at the festival, featuring fashion brands fostered under its programs. The booth functions as a promotional space while enabling direct interaction between industry players and the public.

Minister Teuku Riefky also highlighted the importance of hexahelix collaboration among the government, industry, academia, communities, and the media to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian fashion in both domestic and global markets.

Now in its third edition after previous events in 2023 and 2025, the Garis Poetih Raya Festival 2026 runs from 29 to 31 January 2026, reflecting the government’s continued support for the development of the national fashion subsector.
