RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta -Foreign national monitoring in the capital has been stepped up following a joint operation at an apartment complex in Central Jakarta that uncovered seven foreign nationals suspected of violating their residence permits.
The enforcement action was carried out on Wednesday, September 16, by the Class I Non-TPI Central Jakarta Immigration Office during the Wira Waspada Joint Operation at the Green Pramuka City Apartment. Officers inspected various residential units and public spaces throughout the property to verify the legality of foreign residents.
"The inspection was conducted to verify the validity of documents and ensure that the type of residence permit matches the activities being carried out while in Indonesia," said Head of the Class I Non-TPI Central Jakarta Immigration Office, M. Iqbal Ma’ruf, as quoted by Antara.
During the sweep, officers checked immigration documents, including passports, travel documents, visas, and stay permits. Inspections revealed that seven foreign nationals, six men and one woman, were misusing their residence permits.
The individuals involved hail from Nigeria, India, Liberia, and Saudi Arabia. The six male foreign nationals were identified by their initials as MDC, IIS, and OBE from Nigeria; SS from India; SZP from Liberia; and ANAM from Saudi Arabia. The female national, identified as TAG, is a citizen of Liberia.
All seven individuals were subsequently taken to the Class I Non-TPI Central Jakarta Immigration Office for further questioning and an in-depth investigation into their activities while staying in Indonesia.
"The Wira Waspada Joint Operation was conducted as part of efforts to strengthen immigration data collection and supervision over the presence and activities of foreigners in the Central Jakarta area," Iqbal said. ***
