Sade Village Reconstruction Accelerated Ahead of 2026 MotoGP

RRI.CO.ID, Mataram - With the 2026 MotoGP Mandalika race less than a month away, the West Nusa Tenggara provincial administration is accelerating reconstruction and economic recovery efforts in the traditional village of Sade, while targeting the completion of a museum, art shop and other community economic facilities ahead of the October 9-11 event.
Assistant II at the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Secretariat, Lalu Moh Faozal, said the accelerated development was part of efforts to revive economic activity in Sade following a fire that struck the area.
"One of the main issues we are expediting for the MotoGP event is the museum, which we will complete along with other facilities, including assistance for residents who weave and the art shop, which we will also complete," he said in Mataram on Sunday, September 13, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
In addition to the museum and economic facilities, the government is finalizing a comprehensive reconstruction master plan for Sade, covering public facilities and other infrastructure.
"The museum will measure 8 by 10 meters. Inside, it will tell the story of Sade village and other aspects of its history," Faozal said.
Faozal said facilities slated for construction include a mosque, museum, and toilets. The designs are currently being prepared with assistance from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Mataram (Unram).
The government is also preparing temporary relocation arrangements for residents to support the reconstruction of homes in Sade. "Forty housing units built in 2018 next to the village office have been prepared, although their suitability will still need to be assessed," he said.
Regarding funding, Faozal said the IDR 30 billion figure previously cited by the culture minister was based on an assessment of losses caused by the fire in the Sade traditional village.
"The government is currently finalizing the development requirements that will be financed through that budget," he said. ***
