South Kalimantan’s province-wide forest and land fire emergency alert status will remain in effect until October 31, 2026. Meanwhile, the Emergency Command Post for Forest and Land Fire Response has been activated since July 7, 2026.
The South Kalimantan BPBD said fire-response efforts at the regency and city levels are being carried out in parallel with the provincial response. The measure is aimed at strengthening coordination among relevant parties and accelerating responses to fires across various parts of South Kalimantan.
With the number of incidents and the affected area still high, the regional administration and relevant agencies are continuing to enhance preparedness to prevent forest and land fires from spreading during the dry season. (Annaila Azzahra-EN)
