RRI.CO.ID, Bangli - The meaning of Tumpek Krulut as Bali’s distinctive Day of Compassion is not celebrated solely through traditional rituals. The Bangli Regency Administration in Bali has translated this sacred occasion, which comes once every 210 days, into a tangible humanitarian act by holding simultaneous free medical services in four subdistricts.
“Let Tumpek Krulut be a moment to strengthen brotherhood, care for one another, and protect the health of ourselves, our families, and our environment,” said Bangli Regent, Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, in Bangli on Saturday, August 2, 2026.
As reported by Antara, the free medical services were held simultaneously in four subdistricts across Bangli Regency. The activities were centered in Kedisan Village for Kintamani Subdistrict, Selati Village for Bangli Subdistrict, Sulahan Village for Susut Subdistrict, and Banjar Tembuku Kaja for Tembuku Subdistrict.
He explained that the health services were implemented in line with a Bali Governor’s letter dated July 29 regarding free health services for Tumpek Krulut. The letter emphasized that the sacred day of Tumpek Krulut carries the meaning of honoring humanity with love and compassion.
Meanwhile, residents at the targeted locations welcomed the free medical services positively, using the opportunity to undergo health checks and receive consultations at no cost. They registered in an orderly manner and queued to be served by medical workers from nearby community health centers.
He also expressed appreciation to the Bali Provincial Administration, health workers, subdistrict administrations, village administration, and all parties that worked together to carry out the free medical services.
The Tumpek Krulut observance is not only a social initiative but also a way to foster a spirit of solidarity. It further strengthens the administration’s commitment to providing public services that are high-quality, inclusive, and oriented toward community welfare.
“This free medical service is not merely about providing health care, but a real expression of the administration’s presence to ensure that people receive accessible and high-quality services,” said the Regent. ***
